Mark Bao (formerly Steven Bao) is currently 15, and is a sophomore in high school. His business is Avecora, which is a web, new media, and advertising business.

The mission of Avecora is to create innovative solutions in new and emerging media, in not only web development but in actual situations to present solutions to certain problems.

Avecora is a partner with DebateWare, where Mark works as Co-Founder and Developer. DebateWare, a division of SMR Enterprises Inc., is the developer of DebateNet, the online debate and event management system for debate organizations. DebateWare has provided services for the Junior State of America, the largest student-run organization in the United States, as well as the Collegiate Society of America, a nationwide college debate organization.

Mark is also the Co-Founder and Business Director at Student Concourse, an academic social network for students to organize their academic life and collaborate with other students, targeted towards middle and high school, as well as college. Student Concourse was recently a side dish at the Web Innovators Group Boston.

Mark also is the developer of AdSocial (formerly Cadmium), the targeted social application advertising network available for developers of social applications and advertisers.

Mark has also developed several Facebook apps, one of which was sold to Lee Lorenzen at Altura Ventures. Afterwards, with two marketing partners, he developed the applications TopVideo and Facebook Idol. The latter was sold to a private investor in October 2007.

He also is the organizer of the Facebook Developers Boston meetings for social media developers in Boston, of a total of four meetings, one of which attracted 130 attendees and was sponsored by Facebook and Molecular and included presentations from companies such as TripAdvisor.
